This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps taken by Monarch Mobility to ensure that slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour are not taking place in our supply chains or within our business.
At Monarch Mobility, we are committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and with integrity. We recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to tackling modern slavery and human trafficking, and we are dedicated to ensuring transparency within our business operations and supply chains.
Monarch Mobility is a UK-based company specialising in the supply and servicing of mobility scooters, powerchairs, and associated mobility solutions. We work with a wide range of suppliers, both in the UK and overseas, to provide high-quality products that improve the independence and quality of life of our customers.
Our supply chains include the sourcing of mobility products, parts, and accessories from suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. While some suppliers are UK-based, others are located internationally, where the risks of modern slavery may be higher.
As part of our approach to preventing modern slavery, we: – Conduct checks on new suppliers, assessing their compliance with ethical standards. – Review and monitor supplier relationships to ensure continued compliance. – Assess risks within our supply chains and take action where concerns are identified.
To ensure effective governance and accountability in combatting modern slavery:
– Board of Directors – have overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Modern Slavery Act and approving this statement annually.
– Director (Stacey Fullalove) – oversees the implementation of policies, reporting, and training across the business.
– Procurement Team – responsible for conducting supplier due diligence, ensuring that contractual obligations include modern slavery clauses, and monitoring ongoing supplier compliance.
– HR and Recruitment – responsible for ensuring that recruitment and employment practices are fair, transparent, and free from exploitation.
– Managers and Supervisors – responsible for raising awareness among their teams, encouraging staff to report concerns, and ensuring policies are followed in day-to-day operations.
– All Employees – expected to remain vigilant, undertake training, and report any concerns regarding potential modern slavery risks.
We provide training and guidance for employees involved in procurement and supply chain management to ensure they understand the risks of modern slavery and how to identify and report potential concerns.
We will continue to embed the principles through:
– Providing awareness training to staff on the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and informing them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking.
– Ensuring staff involved in procurement activity are aware of and follow modern slavery procurement guidance on GOV.UK.
– Continuing to take action to embed a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery.
– Ensuring that staff involved in buying, procurement, recruitment, and deployment of workers receive training on modern slavery and ethical employment practices.
This statement has been approved by the Directors of Monarch Mobility and will be reviewed and updated annually.
